Aufgaben

Are you ready to take ownership of a complex enterprise environment where cloud infrastructure, identity, devices, and security all need to work together seamlessly? In this role, you will help keep a modern internal technology landscape stable, secure, and scalable, supporting employees and critical business operations across Google Cloud, Okta, macOS, and related systems. You will work hands-on on infrastructure engineering topics that require both technical depth and the confidence to make decisions that improve reliability, performance, and maintainability over time. This is a role for someone who enjoys solving real operational challenges, improving systems end to end, and turning technical requirements into practical solutions. You will collaborate closely with SRE, Platform Engineering, and IT leadership, while also acting as a senior escalation point for complex issues. The focus is on continuous improvement, strong technical ownership, and building secure foundations that support the business today and can grow with it tomorrow.

  • You will provide hands-on engineering expertise to maintain, stabilize, and continuously optimize enterprise cloud infrastructure with a focus on high availability, performance, and security.
  • You will take ownership of enterprise identity management initiatives, including Okta, and design scalable and secure processes for both human and agentic identities.
  • You will assess business and technical needs, then evaluate, integrate, onboard, and configure new tools and systems end to end.
  • You will review enterprise environments and implement improvements to keep systems secure, up to date, patched, and compliant with defined standards.
  • You will strengthen backup, redundancy, and resilience across infrastructure, proactively identifying and closing gaps before they become incidents.
  • You will analyze and improve networking, macOS/device management, and core enterprise systems with a focus on stability, security, and scalability.
  • You will design and implement automation, scripts, and AI-powered or agentic solutions that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
  • You will provide 3rd-level technical expertise and act as a senior escalation point for complex cloud, infrastructure, identity, and application issues.
  • You will work closely with SRE and Platform Engineering to assess risks, define technical guardrails, and resolve complex incidents with application owners.
  • You will partner with IT leadership on continuous improvement of the enterprise architecture and infrastructure landscape.
  • You will analyze and perform performance tuning of application stacks, including application communication, messaging, load management, Apache, and Ruby components.
  • You will independently drive technical topics from assessment and recommendation through implementation, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer.

Anforderungen

Must-haves

For this role, you should bring solid hands-on experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering and be comfortable working across cloud, identity, endpoint, and network domains. You will be expected to operate independently, troubleshoot deeply, and translate technical findings into robust improvements. The environment is demanding in a good way: you will need to combine practical problem-solving with strong ownership, good communication, and a structured way of working. Because the role spans several critical technologies, you should have experience in administering, securing, and improving production environments, not only supporting them. You should also be comfortable collaborating with multiple technical stakeholders and working in a setting where reliability, security, and compliance matter every day. Since the position is based in Berlin, regular on-site presence is part of the setup, and strong English communication skills are essential for effective teamwork and documentation.

  • You will bring strong hands-on experience operating, administering, optimizing, and scaling enterprise Google Cloud environments.
  • You will bring strong hands-on expertise with Okta, including SSO, MFA, lifecycle management, access policies, and troubleshooting.
  • You will bring strong hands-on experience with enterprise macOS/device management, including configuration, security, deployment, and troubleshooting.
  • You will bring deep practical knowledge of TCP/IP and related protocols, with proven network troubleshooting skills and experience with segmentation, access controls, security policies, and governance.
  • You will bring solid hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerisation/Docker, and VMware in complex enterprise environments.
  • You will bring practical experience administering, securing, and troubleshooting Linux and Google Workspace.
  • You will bring experience with business-critical infrastructure, including cloud, identity, networking, endpoints, backups, resilience, patching, and security.
  • You will bring excellent English skills, both written and spoken.
  • You will be available to work at least 2 days per week on-site in Berlin.
  • You will ideally bring experience with AI-powered and agentic infrastructure solutions.
  • You will ideally bring experience designing and improving enterprise architecture and technical standards.
  • You will ideally bring experience with Infrastructure as Code and infrastructure automation.
  • You will ideally bring German language skills.
  • You will typically have 3-5 years of relevant experience in system engineering, cloud, infrastructure, or a similar technical field.
