Aufgaben

+ this role builds and owns the simulation and test toolchain together with software, perception, and hardware teams in Germany and China.

Anforderungen

Must-haves

+ Profound knowledge and strong hands-on experience with at least one major robotics simulator (NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Gazebo, or comparable)

+ Proficiency in Python and/or C++ in a robotics context- Solid understanding of rigid-body dynamics, contact mechanics, and sensor modeling (camera, ToF/lidar, IMU, odometry)

+ Experience creating and validating physically accurate robot models (URDF, SDF, or USD)

+ Practical ROS 2 experience, including integration of simulation with perception, planning, and control workflows

+ Test-first working style: defines test scenarios, metrics, and acceptance criteria together with the teams, and owns simulation-based regression testing as a deliverable

+ Experience integrating simulation into CI/CD pipelines (containerized execution, automated scenario regression)

+ Excellent written and spoken English; able to work self-directed in a distributed team and document results clearly

Nice-to-haves

+ main knowledge in consumer robotics, ideally autonomous floor care or mobile indoor robots (SLAM, navigation, obstacle avoidance)

+ GPU-accelerated simulation and RL environments (Isaac Lab or comparable)

+ Understanding of embedded/edge compute constraints and how to reflect them in simulation

+ Experience working with distributed, cross-cultural engineering teams

Rahmenbedingungen

Das Projekt kann zu ca. 95% remote geleistet werden, nur ca. 2-4 Tage pro Quartal vor Ort in Wuppertal.
